Box Bags- So Cute!

Here is a fun idea! It is a BOX BAG! These would be great to make for friends and family. The possibilites are endless! Enjoy the instructions!

Tina

Materials Needed:

  • 1- 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of card stock (bottom of box)
  • 1- 5 1/2 x 11 Background and Texture Paper (body of box)
  • 1- 1.5 x 11 piece of cardstock
  • Strong Adhesive (I used Liquid Glass)
  • Scallop Edge Scissors or Punch
  • Stamps or Stickease to decorate box

Close To My Heart Materials Used:

Evensong Creative Basics Paper, B1313 Merry Pursuits, Archival Black Ink, Markers- Cranberry, Holiday Red, New England Ivy, Citrus Leaf, D1313 December Word Puzzle, Watercolor Brush

1. Cut your cardstock 4 1/2 x 4 1/2. Score along each edge at 1 inch.

2. Score corner squares diagonally and fold towards inside of box.

3. Put adhesive on corners and hold down to form bottom of box.

4. Cut your background and texture paper to 5 1/2 x 11. Start your box half way off the edge with the bottom of your box lined up with the bottom of your paper. Use a strong adhesive. Press down the inside of your box. Continue to roll your box along the edge making sure that you press down the inside of each rotation so that you get a strong bond between the box bottom and the background and texture paper!

5. You will need one more strip of paper or cardstock for the finishing touch of your bag. Cut this piece 1 1.2 x 11 inches. I cheated and used a Friskars Punch to get the scallop edge at the bottom. Glue around the bottom of the box.

6. Add tabs for the top and decorate as you please.
