Happy Mail for me today!

I met Cathi Smith at the Chicago Expo. She took some of my classes. At the end of one of the classes, she asked to have her photo taken with me. Today, LOOK what I got in the mail!
How SWEET was that? She stamped me a beautiful card and wrote me the sweetest note. THANK YOU CATHI! You made my day a HAPPY MAIL DAY! I appreciate you so much and I will see you in the windy city next year!

Back AWAY from that JEEP!

I decided to take yesterday off. I figured that I deserved it, after all I had just finished working three 14 hour days. I was desperately behind in my errands so I thought that yesterday would be a perfect opportunity to relax and get my errands done.

My day started out great. I got dressed, the sun was shining (after 10 days of rain) and I was heading to Destin! There was one small problem. I couldn't find my keys. Hey, my glass is half full, so tno problem. Remember the day that I locked myself out of the jeep a few weeks back. When AAA came that day and unlocked my car that day, I had them make me an extra set of keys. There is more than one way to skin a cat... I was set to enjoy my day!

That is until I tried to unlock the jeep. I put the key into the car door and the siren started blaring! Waaa, Waaa, Waaa, Waaa (can't you just hear it?). Let me tell you, jeep alarms are LOUD! So, I put my key in the ignition to try to disable it. The noise continued and the car starts but then stalls out! Ok, don't panic, my regular keys are in the house somewhere, I will go find them. 1o minutes later, I am still looking for those keys and I hear a knock on the door. My neighbor Mike is here to check on me and to make sure everything is ok. I am on the phone to Kent, who is at work, checking to see if he had my keys by mistake. Kent can hear the car alarm through the phone!

Mike comes over and is trying to help me. He gets the alarm to turn off. (for 5 seconds) Then it starts alll over. After 20 minutes Mike gives up! I decide to call the jeep dealer. (this has been going on for about 45 minutes and I can barely thing.) I go to grab my cell phone out of my purse and guess what I grab instead.... You guessed it.... MY KEYS! I clicked the jeep key and finally... silence.

Bottom line... don't even think about stealing a jeep... JUST BACK AWAY! And, if you buy a Jeep, spend the money and get an extra key made from the Jeep Dealer!

After the Cake!

Wow... what a weekend I had. I spent my 14th CTMH birthday cropping with all my wonderful friends and customers. I can describe it in 3 simple words... FUN, FUN, FUN! We cropped from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 P.M. on Friday and from 8:00 a.m until 10:00 p.m. Saturday night. Needless to say, it was an action packed weekend.

I want to thank all of my wonderful friends and customers for attending my birthday crop! I am so blessed to have all of you in my CTMH life. You guys are the HEART of my business and I appreciate all of you. I love the way we laugh, cry and create together!

A big thanks to Debbie Garrett, my wonderful friend and assistant. This event could not have been possible without Debbie and all her help! She keeps me organized, on task and away from the butterflies that I am always chasing!

Thanks to John Garrett, for helping me unolad my car at set up. As many of you know, I have back problems and John's strong muscles heped me save my back and keep me away from the Doctors!

Meredith Painter... THANK YOU for all you do. Meredith helped me so much. She made name tags, she helped shop, she helped set up, tear down and work the ENTIRE crop! She created a wonderful "BELLA" class and taught it with style and grace. Meredith is such a hard worker and gives so much to so many people! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Jennifer Johnson, thank you for creating your "Unforgettable" class! Jennifer came all the way from Mobile, Alabama to teach this class. This is the first time Jennifer taught at our crop and she wowed everyone with her beautiful card creations! Thank you Jennifer and we look forward to having you come back and teach again!

Frank and Madison... Meredith's Family... Thank you for coming and help tear down our booth. Kent and I appreciate you so much! Remember Madison, when you turn 18, I want you to sign on the Scattered Hearts Team!

Also, a big, big THANK YOU to Kent my better half. He supports me in every aspect of my business and I appreciate him so much! I could not do half of what I do with out him.

I totaled our Operation Smile donation last night and I am happy to announce we raised $313.00. WOOHOOO... that is enough to sponsor an operation for a child. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO PURCHASED TICKETS!

As always, I am awake, and bright eyed and bushy tailed. Last night I promised all of you that I would post photos from the weekend. Enjoy and I hope to see all of you at our Valentines Day Crop on February 5th and 6th! Until then... Keep creating!

Mini-Pizza Boxes- SO CUTE!

I love this mini- pizza box. It looks so impressive, but yet it is so easy to make. This is a great item to make for a goodie box. I can just see them decorated for fall or for Halloween! I made 15 boxes for give -aways at my birthday party crop.

Directions for Mini- Pizza Box

1. Cut a piece of cardstock 6" x 11". I used Twilight Cardstock.
2. With the 6" piece at the top, score on 1" and 5". I used a score pal. If you don't have a scor pal you can use your paper cutter and the scoring blade.

3. Turn your paper so that the 11" side is at the top. Score on the 1", 5", 6" and 10".

3. Following the scored lines along the 11” side, use scissors to cut flaps. Begin cut on outer edge of paper and stop at the perpendicular scored line as shown.

4. Fold box together and use bonding memories glue to adhere the flaps! Decorate the box as desired. Give to a freind with a happy inside! FUN, FUN, FUN!

My Birthday Crop is a blast!

We will be there from 8:00 a.m. until 11 p.m. tonight.

Gotta run, IT'S PARTY TIME!

Let the Birthday Crop Begin!

The party starts NOW! If you are in the Navarre Area, feel free to stop by and say hello! We are going to be cropping all day today and tomorrow. WOOHOOO!

I'm on a diet so it is faux chocolate for me!

It's my birthday, but no cake for me! I am going to Paris on October 29th, so I need to lose 10 pounds. I'm sticking to faux chocolate! Let me share the recipe with you!

I used my distressing kit for this card! It is so handy for making faux chocolate. If you don't have a distressing kit yet, I know where you can get one. (Smiles). I'll put a link at the bottom of this post!

I used the following tools from the kit:
Paint Brush, White Magnolia Delta Paint, Cocoa Reinker. You will also need liquid glass.

Here is the recipe:

1. Take your paint tray from the distressing kit. Mix Liquid Glass, White Delta Paint and Chocolate Re-inker on the tray.
2. Stamp your image.
3. Paint the part of the stamp that you want to look like chocolate!

Fun, fun, fun! What a great way to add dimension to your artwork!

View or order distressing kit here!

Paper Used: Good Times- Level 2
Stamp Set- August Stamp Of The Month- It is your Day (last month's SOM but I have a few left- just email me if you are interested)
Inks: Sweet Leaf, Twilight and Buttercup

It's my 14th Birthday!

That's right, I am 14 this week!!! Not in real age but in my CTMH age. I am celebrating 14 glorious years with CTMH! It was a magical day when I signed my CTMH contract in 1995. It has been an amazing 14 years. I have built a team of over 3000 wonderful ladies who have become my family, I have earned 8 all expense vacations to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, New Zealand, etc But most of all I still LOVE my job, even after 14 years. Not too many people can say that about their jobs. In fact, I have to say, it is almost impossible to quit working at the end of the day. I have to tear myself away from the computer or my stamp pad. That is a great problem to have. I love being 14!

I realize that I have not updated my blog for a few days but that is because I am getting ready for my Birthday Party! We are having a Birthday Crop this weekend is Navarre, Florida! I am so excited!!!! The crop sold out but if you want to stop by and say hello and do some shopping, feel free to do so! I will be at the Navarre Conference Center in Navarre Florida. The event goes from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night. On Saturday the hours are from 8:00- until 10:00 P.M. I can't wait to celebrate with all my scrapbooking friends.

If anyone reading this is interested in joining my CTMH family, I would love to have you join us. I am always looking for fun, energetic people to join my team. Just ask me how! We are having a great special this month. If you sign up to be a consultant you will earn the Everyday Celebration Card Kit (you can view it on the sidebar of my blog) for FREE! Just ask me!

Off to get the party started. Today is SETUP! WOOOHOOO!

Thank You Card using Grace Paper

Isn't this card beautiful? I received it from the Corporate Office, thanking me for participating in an Operation Smile Silent Auction. At CTMH's Leadership Conference, I was asked to make an "over the top" project to auction off to help support CTMH's charity, Operation Smile. I made an Acrylix Album that sold for over $150.00. It is so wonderful to be able to make a difference in the life of a child, what an honor. And on top of that, CTMH sent me a thank you card. I am so lucky to work for such an awesome company!

Thank you CTMH!

Fan Brush Re-Inke Technique

Leaf
Like the look of the leaf in the picture highlighted on the right? That technique is called the Fan Brush Re-inker technique. This is how you achieve it.

1. Pick out a stamp set to use. I used D1379 Flourished Blessings Stamp Set. (My new favorite).
2. Choose one or two reinkers. I used Chocolate and Autumn Terracotta.
3. Squeeze a few drops out on the the paint tray from your distressing kit.
4. Take the fan brush from the distressing kit and load it with re-inker. Do not wet your brush. You want your brush to be somewhat dry.
5. Paint the re-inker on to your stamp and then stamp the image on the paper.
6. Magic- you now have a beautiful stamped image with a unique pattern.

Here is my finished card-

Glittering Snowflakes

I love the new flurry dimensional elements. These white chipboard shapes can be stamped, painted, papered, chalked, or in my case GLITTERED! They take any ordinary project and make it extraordinary.

The snowflake on this card was slightly distressed in Juniper Ink and then "glittered"!

The photo does not do this card justice!

Moon Doggie Flip Flap Album

I am home from Port St. Joe! What a wonderful weekend we had. The snorkeling was great, the scallops were plentiful and the seashells were everywhere! I had so much fun that I was inspired to develop my photos right away and create a flip flap mini album with the photos! This is what I came up with.

A few of the inside pages-

I used our brand new top coats to accent some of the photos. I love the way they turned out.

This book was so fun and so easy to make. It is a great use of our Flip Flaps. Thanks to Anna Jernigan for sharing the pattern to make this adorable album! I can't wait to make more Flip Flap Albums!

Greetings From Port St. Joe, Florida

Hello from Port St. Joe, Florida. Kent and I are here with my dear friend and CTMH assistant Debbie. Debbie and her family visit Port St. Joe every Labor Day weekend and this year she invited us to vacation with them. The weather is beautiful and the forecast today is "Scalloping" I grew up in Florida but have never scalloped before. I am so excited.

We arrived yesterday and caught a beautiful sunset. Last night we went to a restaurant called "THE RAW BAR" which is known for it's raw oysters. It was the most unique restau
rant I have ever visited. It is located in the middle of no where. You drive down this road, where there is not much around, and all of a sudden you see this small
building with people EVERY WHERE! They are having a hoe down on the front porch, and people are practically standing in the road. It is 7:30 and you have to wait for a table. It is first come first serve, so that is interesting within itself. Debbie's daughter's are great friends with a local guy, who knows what is going on, so we just squeezed right in. There are maybe 10 tables in the place and it took about an hour to get your food. The place was jammed pack and on the front porch there is live music and dancing.

The oysters and the shrimp were to DIE for. I grew up in Florida and have eaten seafood my entire life. This was some of the best I have ever had.

I feel like I am in a town where time stands still.
Life is good and life is easy. Can't wait to see what today brings!

Tina

P.S. I had a heck of a time uploading photos today. Blogger WOULD NOT cooperate! So, I am just going with it. Enjoy the photos, ignore the layout! Gotta run, I have scallops to catch!
